• Entrants agree to indemnify and hold the IOJDAA, its committee members, its members, judges, volunteers and related parties harmless from all claims, litigation and other legal proceedings.
• The IOJDAA will take every reasonable precaution to ensure the security of the entries but will not accept any liability nor give any guarantee against theft, loss, breakage or damage to the entries.
• If an entry is damaged upon receipt it will be submitted in as is condition. The IOJDAA is not responsible for entries that are damaged.
• If the exact funds in AUD dollars is not received the entry will not be presented for judging and returned to the entrant at the entrant’s expense.
• All entries must be insured by the entrant whilst in the care of the IOJDAA including transport to and from the exhibition.
• The IOJDAA bears no responsibility for the entry at any time.
• Any duties and associated fees payable will be the sole responsibility of the entrant.
• All entries must be finished pieces.
• All opal used must be natural, solid, untreated Australian Opal. Any assembled stone and stone of man-made origin must not be used. This includes synthetics, doublets, triplets, inlay and treated opal. Other natural gemstones may be used to complement the design. Entries can be made of any material, design being the key element.
• Each entry must be a unique design for the 2020 competition.
• Entry components from previous IOJDAA competitions and other competitions are allowed but must be redesigned and remanufactured to meet these criteria.
• Each entry must be submitted in its own sealed container and suitably marked with the entrant’s details.
• Refrain from trademarks, manufacturers’ stamps, etc.
• Entrants are also requested to remove any reference to the designer or manufacturer from the jewellery container to maintain anonymity during judging.
• Only the entrant will be given credit in any publicity regardless of the number of people involved in the collaboration. Additional credit will not be provided.
• No changes to the entry form will be accepted after the judging. The IOJDAA reserves the right to photograph the entries for use in all its marketing and publicity activities.
• Entrants must also allow their pieces to be modelled at the Gala Awards Dinner and to be displayed until 5 pm on the closing day of the exhibition.
• Cancellations will not be entitled to a refund.
• The IOJDAA reserves the right to refuse any entry that is late or does not conform to the specific Rules and Conditions of Entry.
• The IOJDAA reserves the right to revoke awards presented to any winning entrant who has been found to be in breach of any of the Rules and Conditions of Entry.
• The IOJDAA reserves the right to withhold or reduce the number of prizes in any category in which the judges consider the entries not to be of the standard they are seeking. At the discretion of the judges additional prizes such as Commended or Certificate of Merit may be awarded.
• Entries will be judged in the category entered
• Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
